With more than fifteen years of experience in senior management with expertise in media communications, sales and marketing, intellectual property, and business development, Kristy Manning has forged a strong reputation as a knowledgeable, creative-thinking business professional and respected leader. She builds highly motivated teams focused on achieving their goals. Versatile, responsible and diligent, Kristy is a creative problem solver and persuasive communicator with well-developed presentation skills and an enterprising attitude.
Kristy's career history carries a richness and diversity at local, regional, and international levels. For over 7 years, she dedicated her time and energy to Ecomerit Technologies, LLC, a renewable energy research and development firm focused on accelerating the development of transformational sustainability technologies. Here she served a key role in providing support for the Executive Chairman, a wind energy pioneer in the renewable energy sector; was responsible for developing and implementing the company's intellectual property strategy; and worked on several winning grant proposals as the capture manager for Department of Energy and other government agency bids. In 2018/2019 Kristy spent 12 months living in Thoiry, France on the border of Switzerland near Geneva, and traveling throughout Europe. She is now back in the US working as a project consultant in clean tech.
Previously, as Director of West Coast Sales for BBC Worldwide, Kristy managed the sales team and technical staff for the stock footage licensing division. Over a five-year period she led her team to exceed their revenue goals by an average of 22% per year. She trained and supported her team, negotiated complex licensing agreements and legal contracts, and oversaw high profile client projects such as The 11th Hour, a 92-minute documentary produced and narrated by Leonardo DiCaprio, and The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones bonus material consisting of ninety-four historical documentaries created by Lucasfilm.
When the BBC launched a new brand identity for BBC Library Sales worldwide, Kristy contributed to the vision and execution of the new website. She was part of a two-person team that identified and brokered a royalty free footage collection, a key component in BBC Motion Gallery's e-commerce offering. Kristy fostered strategic relationships with blue chip companies such as Apple, Google, Universal Studios, Sony Pictures, and Peachpit. As the project manager, she co-led a DVD production for Glencoe/McGraw Hill with the Senior Vice President, producing educational videos to accompany a health textbook used by millions of school children. She was credited for creative and marketing collaboration on a large-scale project with Apple involving the BBC Motion Gallery online library, and named BBC Motion Gallery Person of the Year in the US. Kristy was chosen to represent BBC Motion Gallery as a panelist on HD production for stock libraries at the Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival, and participated on numerous press interviews with a variety of trade publications.
Internationally, Kristy employed her skills in sales and brand development in Sweden and Switzerland. She managed enterprise sales for the Nordic countries for AltaVista Software Company based in Stockholm, where she helped develop and execute a sales strategy that doubled regional sales revenue within eight months. During her time in France and Switzerland, Kristy consulted at CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research located near Geneva, creating a comprehensive online Newcomer Welcome Center and an ambitious new brand strategy for the ATLAS Experiment (a particle physics experiment at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN). Kristy and her creative team developed an enriched user-friendly landing page design, an improved image identity, and a plan for developing strategic relationships that amplifies CERN's scientific outreach and education initiatives.
